Soul Care Help

Soul Care Help

Healing is not limited to one setting or method; it can emerge wherever care, attention, and presence are invited. In addition to therapy sessions, or as a standalone aspect of personal wellness, Sunrise Therapy Center (STC) practitioners facilitate soul-care services that attend to the quieter, deeper dimensions of the inner life. These offerings are not psychotherapy, yet they often carry a therapeutic quality. They may be experienced one or within the nurturing context of community.

Spiritual Companion Sessions

with Akiah Selwa, LMFT, Certified Spiritual Director.

Spiritual companionship (or Spiritual Direction) is a sacred and attentive relationship that supports people in giving voice to the holy stories unfolding in their everyday lives. As a Spiritual Director, Akiah listens with depth, presence, and care, coming alongside you as a discerning guide who helps notice and honor the movement of the Higher Power within your lived experience. This work rests on the belief that the Divine is not distant, but continually revealing itself in ordinary moments, relationships, questions, and longings.

Spiritual companionship offers an accountable and sacred space for exploration—one grounded in trust, reverence, and compassionate listening. Sessions may include extended periods of silence, meditation, prayer, deep listening, discernment around next steps, and gentle inquiry into beliefs that may be evolving, loosening, or seeking renewal.

This relationship is understood as an ongoing spiritual practice, often unfolding over a season, months, or sometimes years. It is not limited to one or two meetings in response to a spiritual crisis but invites sustained attentiveness to the inner life over time. Either person may choose to bring the relationship to a close at any point if it no longer feels aligned. There is no binding obligation to continue beyond what feels authentic and fitting for both.

A Simple Art Practice with Kiah (ASAP) Videos

Making time for art is one of the kindest ways to care for yourself—and a simple way to return to what is sacred in you. Art-making can become a quiet prayer: an act of loving attention that helps you listen for the gentle movements of Spirit within, and feel more connected—with yourself, with others, and with what matters most. You don’t need training or experience to enjoy the A Simple Art Practice video series; just bring your curiosity, an open heart, and a willingness to begin. Akiah Selwa will guide you through a gentle 30-minute session, and for most videos, all you’ll need is a pen or pencil and a piece of paper. If you’d like to grow this into a steady practice for wellness, spiritual contemplation, or self-discovery, you’re warmly invited to purchase access to any of the 24 “A Simple Art Practice with Kiah” videos or choose one of the three 8-week bundles.

SoulCollage® Workshops

SoulCollage® is a gentle, imaginative practice that supports self-discovery and inner transformation through the simple act of collage-making. Rooted in intuition rather than exploration, this practice invites you to listen inwardly, remaining open to discovering something new, or remembering something long known but forgotten. Meaning arises from within; only the creator of a SoulCollage® card can reveal what the image holds. Others are invited to witness with respectful curiosity, refraining from interpretation, and practicing active and contemplative listening. SoulCollage® is intended to be experienced in community, where images are honored as expressions of the soul's many voices. In this shared space, stories are received with presence and care, allowing insight, connection, and transformation to unfold naturally.

We offer two-hour workshops and open studios virtually on Zoom.
